Yes I certainly admit to being lazy but my spare time is worth something to me. You are very likely one of those people who don't care if you spend 100 hours doing this if you save $5. Most people here place no value at all on their spare time. Your "lazy" equals my "my time is VALUABLE". I would continue to ask around and try learning from people who actually give help and not criticism like a know it all who wont talk. I got a great answer elseware in another forum so thanks for nothing I guess.Īs for your last stement, I would never do that and say I did it if I couldnt do it. The whole damn reason for this post is because I dont want one, I want files playable on PC. I just wanted some info on this and it seems like all the lazy people are just saying get a danm multi region DVD player.

You have no clue what I have done, I have done plenty of things with video. I do have plenty of clue what im talking about. Of course that meant PAL to NTSC conversion. I thought you would know what I meant by region to another region conversion. You'll wait a little while and come back to say "I did it - I knew I could do it - it was easy and my results are spectacular".and never show your results because you actually gave up and bought a hackable, converting Philips DVD player. PAL to NTSC is like nothing you have ever done. There are a plethora of almost "one click codec conversion" softwares to choose from. Region coding and PAL/NTSC have NOTHING to do with each other. By you saying "one region to another region" just proves that you have virtually no clue what you are doing or talking about. I'll be accused of being too blunt again but.you need to STOP and READ before you continue. How would I make them 640x480 NTSC?Ĭomputer conversion is something I do alot, I just never did one region to another region before. I have already ripped the DVD's into VOB files but their Pal resolution. As for the menu, thats ok I have software to make my own menu's. I saw one person take PAL DVD's and encode it to 640x480 NTSC MKV format and thats what I wish to do to mine. Yeah theres about 20 DVD's in total I would like to do this to. Do note that menus will NOT convert and you will have to manually convert any extras as well. Spend all your spare time doing these conversions and pat yourself on the back knowing that you "saved money" because you didn't have to buy another DVD player to play them.

Go to the Guides section and look up the PAL ->NTSC DVD guides (there are many) and pick whichever conversion guide you feel like following. I've got a Philips 3560 ($39.95 at Best Buy) and it works fine. Exactly how many DVDs do you have? My policy is that you have to do this more than twice, you need to consider an alternative.įollow Moontrash's advice on buying a cheap converting DVD player.
